The National Commission for the fight against Genocide was created by law No 09/2007 of 16/02/2007, which stipulates that the Commission is a National, independent and permanent institution. It has a legal status and administrative and financial autonomy.

CNLG have different activities that fall in mission and objectives of GAERG such advocacy for the cause of genocide Survivors, keep the memory and prevention of genocide against Tutsi.

Literally translated Imbuto means seed. A seed well planted, watered, nurtured and given all the necessary support successfully grows into a healthy plant – one that reaches high and stands tall. Imbuto Foundation envisions this for all its current initiatives and those in the future. Imbuto foundation has the mission to support the development of a healthy, educated and prosperous society. Imbuto foundation support students advocated from GAERG but also organize forum to empower youth among them are GAERG members.

Survivors Fund (SURF) is a UK based organization that works with survivor’s organizations to develop and deliver, fundraise and advocate for, monitor and evaluate programs to deliver justice, rebuild the lives and empower survivors of the Rwandan genocide. SURF supported especially GAERG cattle farm  in Ntarama and capacity building of the organization.

IBUKA is an independent and non-profit oriented organization legally recognized by the government of Rwanda , gathering genocide survivors associations and act as an umbrella to those associations. It was formed in 1995 and now has fifteen survivors’ member associations throughout Rwanda . These include AVEGA, AERG, AOCM, Uyisenga N’ Manzi, GAERG, Kanyarwanda, Duhozanye, Dukundane Family, Barakabaho, ARG Impuhwe  ARSG Mpore, Duharanirekubaho, Benishyaka, Benimpuhwe, AFTS.

Is an association of student survivors of genocide created in 1996 at the National University of Rwanda. AERG is now represented nationally at 27 Universities and institutes of higher learning and 272 secondary schools in Rwanda , with a total countrywide membership of more than 40,000 members. The national AERG coordination office is based in Kigali , which liaises with the AERG University and Secondary School AERG sections to connect and represent student survivors

GAERG work closely with AERG as GAERG members are founder and alumni of AERG. The two organization work closely especially in commemoration event organized by them as well as mentorship during visits in different branches of AERG in secondary and higher learning institution.
